Mum was surprised about Edgar Watkins's first wife as she hadn't known about that at all. She remembers Ed coming to work at Rotax factory in about 1947 when Mum was in th eoffice there, also that Ed's daughter Peggy worked there for a while later on.

There is a Rotax page on the Alan George site. I put Rotax Merthyr into google.I've phoned Mum for more info. She says: the factory was at bottom of Cefn Coed on the edge of Merthyr near Cefn bridge. They made mags and starters for aircraft. Edgar worked in the factory (not sure exactly what he was doing - it was all engineering), (Mum now says)during the war and Peggy was a clerk of some sort. Mum says it was part of Lucas, CAV and Rotax Ltd. Working there constituted a reserved occupation as it was related to munitions.At Mum's I've seen a picture of Rotax workers including Mum so I'll have to look for it and see if Ed or Peggy feature.
