And this is the only watkins-liddiard marriage, ever, and its's in Merthyr with Aneurin E and Bettie, so this must be the right one. So where are these other children? Maybe Dylis M L could be Margaret/Peg, but who are Olive and Stuart? And is Audrey still alive? She's my second cousin!

Narrative
Spoke only English (1891 census)
Narrative
Brenda Sennitt thinks this is her great-uncle Edgar, whom she knew. His daughter died of TB aged 18.
[Presumably this is Sylvia, died 1950 aged 20. Emrys]
Narrative
"RSD" On AEW's birth certificate stands for "rural sanitary district". See wikipedia!
Narrative
Valerie thinks AEW and Beattie were alive in 1954. I've been though 1954 through 1975 deaths and can find no aneurin edgar watkins anywhere, and only one beatrice watkins in Merthyr, died aged 67 in Apr-Jun 1965, 8b 374 (maybe).
Narrative
Spoke both English and Welsh (1911 census).
I sincerely hope that "Edgar Watkins" on the 1911 census is Aneurin Edgar. His age is a year out in 1911, but "Edgar" was an "electric motor-man" which sounds like he's still a tram conductor.
Narrative
Valerie says that AEW was married twice, his second wife being much younger than he.

From Ruth Jowett to Emrys 2009-8-6:
Hi Emrys,He looks very proud of his inspectors uniform! The photo of Tyd and Albert's wedding was taken in 1955. Do you recogniseany of your Watkins ancestors on it? I don't know any apart from Auntie Tydand Uncle Albert. The other thing my Dad remembered about Edgar was that his hobby was amateurradio, perhaps he inspired my Dad because he ended up on the radio in theRAF in WW2.I'm looking forward to some info about the Watkins.all the bestRuth

Subject: RE: Edgar Watkins/Tydfil PughHiya Emrys,I don't think we are actually related except by marriage. Tydfil and Edgar's that is! Alvira Tydfil Pugh was my grandmothers sister, making her my great Aunt and Edgar my great uncle in law. I am afraid I know very little about him. My late father who was born in Dowlais vaguely remembered him. He told me that Edgar worked as a fitter for Merthyr Tydfil Electric and Tramway Company and was an Inspector on the trams on the weekends. Tydfil died very young -complications with childbirth according to my father. My Auntie Tyd (their eldest daughter)was born that day. He thought that Edgar married again possibly to a Beat (Beatrice)and they had 2 daughters Audrey and Peg. He also said he believed that Edgar had at least 2 sisters. Is that where you come in? I would love a copy of the 1911. I haven't got round to following all that up yet. I was lucky to inherit quite a lot of family photos although I have only that one of Edgar. I will send you a better copy. Best WishesRuth

...
Mum was surprised about Edgar Watkins's first wife as she hadn't known about that at all. She remembers Ed coming to work at Rotax factory in about 1947 when Mum was in th eoffice there, also that Ed's daughter Peggy worked there for a while later on.
