Steve Park, at Maisie's funeral, said that his birth mother was a mystery to him. His only memory of her is her saying goodbye. Steve believes that Eileen was "banished" by Bessie Corney. Eileen may have moved to Australia. Steve has never tried to find her. |

There is doubt over David Park's date of birth.
His BMD death registration gives it as 5 Dec 1920.
Mike Buxton gave it as 6 Dec 1920.
But the likely BMD birth record is for David J C Park is

Which is odd.
There is a David J Park:

or even possibly:

But the Romford birth has the right geography and the BMD marriage registration with Maisie calls him "David J C Park". Although the BMD marriage info with Eileen Carr calls him "David J Park". And we know they're the same person because Stephen has mother's maiden name Carr.
All very odd indeed.
Narrative
The Park family confirm David's DOB as December 1919, not 1920. The death record must be wrong. They say his name was David James Clarence, after his father's brother Clarence who died of wounds in WWI.
