Now, Peg, and Alan Wood. I don't know if Peg and Reg Wood were married. I can't find them in BMD. Alan seems to be about the same age as your Mum, born 1922, and we know he died in the 1980s. Here's a candidate:

and I pick him out of all the other Alan Woods because his middle name is Hayden, which is uncommon and is Peg's brother's name. A possible related birth record shows:

So there's an Alan H Wood whose mother's maiden name was Williams who had the same middle name as Peg's brother who did die about the time we expect and who was 4 months younger than your Mum. The only really strange thing is that he was born in Durham, which is not traditional territory for Williamses. Or, of course, I could have entirely the wrong person.
And it looks like he was married to Kathleen, which is known to be the formal name of Kit, who was our Alan's wife.
